One Tap Login (OTL), often referred to as Silent Mobile Verification (SMV), provides a secure and instant way to confirm your mobile number without relying on receiving or typing an SMS OTP.
- The Invisible Verification: The entire authentication process is silent and happens in the background, making the experience frictionless. It eliminates the need for you to wait for an SMS, navigate away from the app, or manually enter any codes.
- Mobile Data Connection is Key: OTL functions by utilizing your device’s live mobile-data session. The technology forces the authentication request to travel over your telecom operator’s core network (the Provider).
- Operator Confirmation (SIM Binding): When the request traverses the operator's network, the operator (e.g., Jio or Airtel) confirms that the phone number (Mobile Station International Subscriber Directory Number or MSISDN) is currently active and bound to that specific data session. This process is primarily focused on SIM binding—confirming that the SIM is active and possessed by the device.
- Wi-Fi Handling: Even if you are connected to Wi-Fi, the OTL technology requires the mobile data network signal for verification. The system attempts to temporarily change the priority or routing of data packets to transmit over the mobile network for a fraction of a second to complete the check.(Bureau's OTL SDK Feature)
- Security and Assurance: Security is enforced via a cryptographic handshake between Bureau and the operator, ensuring the request was not tampered with. Only signed tokens are exposed during the process, safeguarding your sensitive data.
