The strength of One Tap Login (OTL) is its ability to instantly detect if the verification cannot proceed and initiate a fallback plan.
Instant Detection and Fast Failure: If your operator is not currently supported by our OTL solution (which presently supports Jio and Airtel as live operators, with Vodafone expected soon), the system detects this automatically. For unsupported numbers (MSISDNs), the status returned is operatorNotSupported. If the user is on an active data network that isn't supported (e.g., BSNL, or certain Wi-Fi ISPs), the status will be networkNotSupported.
Seamless Fallback to SMS OTP: The system is designed to "fail fast" in these scenarios. Once the system determines that OTL is not serviceable—for instance, if the provider failed to verify or an internal error occurs—you can seamlessly fall back to the traditional SMS OTP. This swift check and transition should occur rapidly, with the solution suggesting a "fail fast" approach, often resulting in a status within 100 milliseconds.
By adopting a rapid fallback mechanism, businesses ensure a frictionless user journey even when OTL cannot be used.
